ABOUT
Leon Benson b. 2001 East Sussex, is an electronic musician, singer and social arts facilitator.
His practice explores listening, soundscape composition and field recording, using sounds from the environment as 'sound photos' which he collects, processes and collages into compositions. These sounds timestamp a moment of connection, becoming catalysts for words, melody and arrangement.
Leon is interested in music as a way of becoming more connected to oneself, to others and to the environments around us. His practice is rooted in deep listening and appreciation, finding musical possibilities in sounds that might be otherwise overlooked. He works with stream-of-consciousness writing, visual poetry and surrealist techniques, alongside influences from musique concrète, Éliane Radigue and drone composition.

Rebecca’s Jewellery is Leon’s artist name and ongoing project. His final practical thesis at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, SHAKING THE BRANCHES, explored field recording, soundscape composition and audio collage.
In 2026, he performed the thesis in a headline show at Stoke Newington Old Church, alongside performances at Farsight Gallery and IKLECTIK through MAP/making, a sound & visual arts collaboration between Guildhall and the Royal College of Art. He graduated from Guildhall in July 2026 with a BA (Hons) in Electronic and Produced Music.
